Date night last week.
The Food: Incendio Pizzaria
The Film: Incendies
The Transportation: Beatrice and Rupert
Sounds like a recipe for a fabulous night, right? Wrong. Everything was perfect until we watched the French film Incendies. It was very well done but just...so...sad. It dampened our moods. We walked home kind of depressed.
The Moral: only watch comedies on date night.
Haha I should have known Beatrice & Rupert would be your bikes! And I agree, rom-coms are totally the way to go for date night.
ReplyDeleteDo you and Rob have date nights?
ReplyDeleteAlthough Incendies was undoubtedly an enormous buzzkill, and completely inappropriate for date-night, you have to admit, those thought provoking films that won't get out of your head have a unique value to them. I enjoy a nice easy comedy as much as the next guy, but a movie that challenges you, that makes you think, that shocks you, that presents the world in a way you've never thought about it before; that can be an amazing experience.
ReplyDeleteAlso, let's have a repeat dinner & movie date night, but plan it out a little better. Also, this time with more DOP
ReplyDeleteTruer words were never spoken, my dear. Also, let's always refer to it as DOP. It sounds way cool.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately no, Rob and I never have date nights. At least one of us is always at work. Once in a while, though, we find some quiet time together, after Isabella has gone to bed.
